Nokia, Qualcomm to showcase industrial 5G tech at Hannover Messe 2019

Nokia will power the trade show's 5G Arena for Deutsche Messe AG using Qualcomm Technologies mobile test devices.
Finnishmultinational corporation, Nokia Corp. has recently announced that it will help showcase advanced industrial solutions using a live 5G network at the Hannover Messe 2019 which will be held from April 1st to April 5th, 2019.
According to reports, the 5G Arena will be powered by Nokia 5G network, offering wireless connectivity to several renowned industry players to help them demonstrate their innovative 5G solutions to a large audience at the show. Furthermore, the companies will also use Qualcomm's mobile test devices to connect.
Reliable sources suggest that the industrial arena networks based on current LTE or upcoming 5G technologies will offer reliable wireless connectivity to allow digitalization and development of advanced applications in the wake of Industry 4.0 revolution.
According to a press release, Kathrin Buvac, President of Nokia Enterprise & CSO, Nokia, said that the fourth industrial revolution promises enormous gains in productivity, novel business models and disruptive customer experiences. She said that the next-gen networks, including 5G, will enable this industrial revolution and beyond with network capacity, reliability and low-latency features.
She said that the company was delighted to work with Qualcomm Technologies and Deutsche Messe AG to bring potential industrial applications to the 5G arena which includes smart factories that offer intelligent equipments, enhanced safety to workers, and higher efficiencies.
Commenting on the move, Enrico Salvatori, President & Senior VP, Qualcomm EMEA, Qualcomm Europe, Inc. said that smart, connected factories of the future will allow manufacturing things as well as taking appropriate decisions. He said that their firm is delighted to support such live over-the-air presentations with Nokia and several European industry giants to make what 5G has to offer for industrial IoT.
Salvatori added said that Qualcomm has been a key supporter in the industrial IoT for several years, and now, with 5G, is looking forward to continuing making Industry 4.0 a reality in Europe and worldwide.
