Vestas receives wind turbine order from Stena for Aby-Alebo project

Vestas, a leading provider of wind turbine solutions and services, has recently secured a 155 MW order for a wind energy project, Aby-Alebo, from Stena Renewables AB. Under this wind power installation project, touted as the largest in southern Sweden, Vesta will develop a 155 MW wind farm for Stena Renewables. It will supply, install, and commission 36 units of V150-4.2 MW turbines in a 4.3 MW power optimized mode to enhance the power production in this system.
The V150-4.2 MW turbines offered by Vestas for this Aby-Alebo project will strengthen the market leading position in the Nordics and further enhance Vestas' business partnership with Stena Renewables, claims President of Northern and Central Europe, Nils de Baar. It will deliver wind turbine solutions and services that help lower costs of energy for the consumers in Sweden.
The order also includes the delivery of VestasOnline® Business SCADA solution to optimize energy outputs and lower turbine downtime, as well as an AOM 5000 (Active Output Management 5000) valid for 30 years.
The Danish wind turbine manufacturer designs, manufactures, installs, and services wind turbines, with more than 108 GW wind turbines in 80 countries.
Vestas holds a leading position in the wind energy market in Sweden and has a strong strategic bond with Stena, going back over 15 years. The company has installed several wind turbines of over 4.2 GW since its initiation as a global sustainable energy producer.
The chief executive officer of Stena Renewable AB, Peter Zachrisson, talked about the healthy relationship between Stena and Vestas, and assisting each other to produce optimized results. He also spoke about Vestas' consistent efforts to ensure the availability of high-quality assets and products.
The delivery of turbines is expected to start by the Q2 of 2021 and the wind farm will be commissioned during the Q3 and Q4 of 2021.
